Inspiration

“My main goal,” she says, “is to inspire children to do their best. Whether they want to paint like John James Audubon, study animals like Jane Goodall, invent a computer like Steve Wozniak, or become a journalist like Nellie Bly, the key is to believe in yourself and stick with your dreams.”

“Low Bridge, Everybody Down!”

Marty has written about the Erie Canal and literally gotten her feet wet in it. She grew up in Rochester, New York, America’s first boom town thanks to the Canal. She’s cruised the Erie many times. She shows stunning photos of the landscape, tells amazing stories about the building of the canal, and she performs songs of the era.
