“If there’s an incident on the playground, I have my students read a Nick and Lisa story about the same issue. The children write and talk about their endings. They really enjoy it.”

Conflict Resolution Stories
This collection of stories presents realistic conflicts that readers are challenged to solve.

In each story, Lisa faces a problem typical for a child in elementary school, while her older brother Nick grapples with a more serious version of the same issue.

The stories stop before the problems have been fully resolved.  Readers are invited to write and illustrate their own endings and to compare them with one provided in which Nick and Lisa make good choices.
